U.S. Embassy Expands Interview Waiver Eligibility for Pakistani Citizens

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The United States Mission in Pakistan announced the expansion of interview waiver eligibility for Pakistani citizens renewing B1/B2 tourist and business visas at the U.S. Embassy. United States in Islamabad and the United States Consulate General in Karachi.

Pakistani citizens aged 60 and over whose B1/B2 visas are valid or have expired within the last 48 months are eligible to participate.

In a statement on Monday, the U.S. Embassy said this procedural change will improve customer service and allow for more efficient processing of tourist and business visa renewals for qualified and eligible Pakistani citizens.

The Embassy said potentially eligible candidates with scheduled appointments have been contacted directly and advised of the possibility of submitting their applications through this new procedure.

However, he added that, as required by US law, some eligible visa holders may still be required to report to the US Embassy or Consulate General for interviews after submitting their applications.
