The Arizona Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for dogs 1 year and older this weekend

PHOENIX — You won’t need greenery to bring home an adult dog this St. Patrick’s Day weekend from the Arizona Humane Society, as the organization is waiving adoption fees.

Dogs at least 1 year old can be adopted without the usual associated fees starting Thursday and continuing through Sunday as part of the St. Paw-trick’s Day celebration.

“This special will create much-needed kennel space to continue bringing in more sick, injured and abused animals that need help,” the organization said in a press release.

The Arizona Humane Society has two locations in the valley, one at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix and the other in the PetSmart Scottsdale store at 4380 N. Miller Road.

Available dogs can be viewed in linethe site being updated every hour.

All dogs, as well as other pets offered at the venues, are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, the organization said.

Those who decide to add a four-legged friend to their household also receive a bag of Hill’s Science Diet food and a free follow-up vet exam with VCA Animal Hospitals.
