20 unvaxed NegOcc cops submit waiver to PRO-6
THE CITY OF BACOLOD – A total of 20 remaining staff from the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOCPPO) submitted a waiver, waiving their opportunity to benefit from the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines.
Data released Thursday showed that of the 2,378 NOCPPO staff members, 2,358 or 99.2 percent have been vaccinated.
Lt. Abegael Donasco, spokesperson for NOCPPO, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that unvaccinated people have been asked to submit a waiver to the Regional Police Office (PRO) 6 (Western Visayas) .
They are made up of 13 staff with co-morbidities and a further seven who are either pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Of those vaccinated, 2,063 completed both doses while 295 received the first dose.
So far, 57 have benefited from the booster injections.
Donasco said that starting Thursday, unvaccinated police officers must undergo a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test every 14 days at their expense, in accordance with the “no work, no vaccine “from the Philippine National Police.
“It’s twice a month, especially for those who are required to report to provincial headquarters or their stations,” she added.
Under resolution 148-B of the Interagency Working Group for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, all establishments and employers in the public and private sectors must require that their eligible employees assigned to perform on-site work be vaccinated against Covid. -19.
Meanwhile, Donasco said NOCPPO had no active Covid-19 cases after 243 of 245 infected people recovered while two died. (ANP)
